About Me

DEDICATED TO THE PURSUIT OF HIV PREVENTION IN S.A THROUGH PIONEERING, COLLABORATION AND EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH
I am Nishanta Singh, a Specialist Clinician Scientist and Principal Investigator currently based at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), HIV and other Infectious Diseases Research Unit, (HIDRU) in Durban. I have years of clinical trial experience and a record of accomplishment, success and scientific contribution in medical research while working with local and international research networks.
I am an MBChB degree graduate with a background in family medicine and have years of experience in managing a general medical practice together with working closely as a healthcare provider at a family and community level.
Currently in my role as a clinician scientist and Principal investigator in clinical trials, my primary role centers on clinical trial Implementation and regulation, safety surveillance and research translation.
I am passionate about HIV Prevention Research together with treatment and prevention of infectious diseases affecting the local communities.
I am currently completing my post graduate studies in Clinical Epidemiology through the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and look forward to enhancing my knowledge and growth within the Infectious Diseases Prevention landscape.
This website is a showcase of my journey of learning presented as a portfolio of evidence for the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) module. The portfolio reflects my individual course work as presented through a series of assignments that I have worked on during the module. I am happy to present my growth, experiences and transition as I navigated and reflected through each learning point within the module. This includes my critical personal learning reflections on the process of a live guideline simulation exercise.
